Top 10 Korean War Movies of All Time

In this video, we will show you a top 10 list of the best movies ever made about the Korean War. This war of the early 1950’s was a very brutal and deadly undertaking, with it leading to the deaths of somewhere between two and three million people before all was said and done. And because countries like The United States and The United Kingdom were directly involved in helping out their allies South Korea in this one, it’s meant that it’s a subject western audiences have found themselves continually interested in over the years.

Not that they’d have a great deal of movies about the subject coming out of Hollywood to enjoy though. No, if they wanted to get an idea of what the whole situation was like by seeing it portrayed on screen, they’d have to go straight to the source. And that meant checking out the world of Korean cinema. That’s where we’d find action movies like 2003’s Silmido, 2016’s Battle for Incheon: Operation Chromite, and 2004’s Tae Guk Gi: The Brotherhood of War.

But it’s not all grisly dramas that the Koreans have made about that fateful war over the years. No, sometimes they’ve been able to take the terror it created and turn that into a black comedy or even a romance. And if you need any evidence of that being the case, you need only look at the laughs that audiences got from watching the likes of 2015’s The Long Way Home or 2005’s Battle Ground 625. That or the romance they got to lose themselves in while watching 2011’s In Love and War.
